Restoration of a reinforced-concrete wall section

The wall-section repair included removal of delaminated concrete, cleaning and restoration of reinforcement, and concrete restoration with repair mortar. For a similar property

The recorded work includes delaminated concrete and reinforcement treatment, followed by concrete restoration. Surface waterproofing is one of the later operations. The example shows why coating treatment and restoration of a damaged substrate need to be considered separately.

  • What area is damaged, and are overview and exposed-reinforcement photographs available?
  • Are inspection records, a design or an account of the cause available?
  • What access, moisture and operating conditions need to be considered?
